OUR PHILOSOPHY

Great sourcing starts long before an order is placed

Before a product is ordered, the brief, specification, finish, manufacturing capability and quality requirements must be properly understood. Surgo brings judgement, established relationships and on-the-ground oversight to each of those decisions—helping clients move from design intent to production with greater clarity and confidence.

WHAT WE SOURCE

Six core categories, developed and coordinated for considered architectural projects.

Aluminium and timber window system

01

Aluminium and Timber Windows & Doors

Aluminium and timber window and door systems developed according to the architectural brief, required performance, profile, glazing, finish and project conditions. Our primary capability is in aluminium systems, including thermally broken, commercial and residential applications, with selected timber solutions also available.

Custom architectural joinery

02

Custom Joinery

Project-specific cabinetry, kitchens, wardrobes and architectural joinery developed according to the approved brief, specification and finish requirements.

Engineered timber flooring

03

DAVID

Australia

David began his building career in 1990 with his family’s building company, which specialised in commercial and residential renovations and new homes. He later worked independently as a subcontractor for local builders, gaining broad, hands-on experience across multiple trades and stages of construction.

In the mid-1990s, David joined a commercial construction company, where he managed projects including a hospital medical unit, a secondary school resource centre, 26 residential units, convenience and fast-food outlets, a sporting complex and a healthcare centre.

David holds a Level IV Certificate in Building Technology, along with qualifications in building energy-rating design, carpentry, painting, plastering, concreting, paving and tiling. His practical understanding of construction, joinery, materials and project delivery allows him to assess how products must perform from the initial brief through manufacturing, transport and installation.

At Surgo, David leads the Australian operations, client relationships, project coordination and specification review. He works with builders, developers, architects and designers to define project requirements, review materials and finishes, coordinate quotations and establish a clear sourcing pathway before production begins.

SHIRLEY

Guangzhou

Shirley is an international sourcing and procurement specialist based in Guangzhou, with extensive experience in supplier sourcing, factory liaison, procurement coordination and international trade within China’s manufacturing sector.

She is a co-founder and shareholder of Guangzhou Caizhuhui Import and Export Trading Co., Ltd. and a shareholder of Surgo Collective Pty Ltd. Her work is focused on building trusted supply chains between Chinese manufacturers and Australian builders, designers and construction professionals.

Shirley is responsible for supplier identification, factory evaluation, quotation coordination, sampling, quality inspections, procurement management, export preparation and long-term supplier relationships. Her local presence provides direct access to manufacturers and allows production questions, quality matters and delivery requirements to be addressed at the source.

Her strength lies in understanding both Australian customer expectations and Chinese manufacturing capability. Through practical manufacturing knowledge, strong supplier relationships and cross-cultural communication, Shirley helps ensure products meet the required quality standards, project specifications and commercial objectives.

Together, David and Shirley connect the Australian project brief with the people, processes and manufacturing capability required to deliver it. David brings practical construction knowledge and local project understanding, while Shirley provides direct access to manufacturers and on-the-ground oversight throughout sourcing, development and production. This combination allows Surgo to manage one connected pathway from specification and supplier selection through sampling, manufacturing, inspection, consolidation and delivery support.
